Don’t pick your Jack-O-Lantern this year from a boring box and struggle with crying kids in a grocery cart! Have some fun instead! Bring your family out to the farm, take a hayride to the field and pick one straight from our pumpkin patch. (Prices vary by weight.)

Since it’s a little early for pumpkins, how about an easy recipe for another member of the squash family. Don’t tell the kids it’s high in vitamins and minerals. It’s so good it could pass for dessert!

Easy Acorn Squash

Cut ends off squash so that it will sit flat and not roll. Slice in half and discard pulp and seeds. Fill middle with one tablespoon butter and one tablespoon brown sugar or honey. Bake in 350 degree oven until soft. Serve warm. Can also be cooked in a microwave oven. Cover with plastic wrap and cook on high until soft. Scoop out and enjoy!
