Barn Dances

The Fiddlin’ Rooster Band recreates the sound and images of the rural string bands that were common in communities all over Mississippi during the late 1920’s and early 1930’s.  Featuring Doug and Rhonda Webb and sometimes a few friends.

From Days Gone By …

Reminiscent of the early years of Mississippi fiddle music and the Grand Ole Opry, Doug and Rhonda resurrect the sounds of the Mississippi String Bands of the 1920’s and 30’s, Uncle Dave Macon, the Carter Family, Bill Monroe, and more.  They are often joined by special guest musicians.

They have entertained crowds at town festivals, homecomings, reunions, and other special events throughout the state of Mississippi.

They can also assist in the organization of dances.  Rhonda is a caller for “contra” or old time country dances and specializes in taking inexperienced folks of most any age and having them up and dancing in just a few minutes for a full evening of fun.

They have conducted barn dances for church youth groups, high school and college groups and many others.

They are sometimes available for outside events.  Sound reinforcement is available as well.  For booking info, contact http://rhonda@fiddlinroosterfarm.com.
