About the Farmers
The Farmers: Doug and Rhonda Webb
Fiddlin’ Rooster Farm is owned by Doug and Rhonda Webb, eighth generation Mississippians and the proud parents of seven beautiful daughters. Both grew up loving farm life and the outdoors and are passionate about teaching the youth of today about the importance of agriculture to their daily lives.
As musicians they have entertained large and small audiences in a variety of venues – festivals, schools, churches, etc. ( In 2003 they were approved by the Mississippi Arts Commission as Touring Artists. ) They particularly love teaching about Mississippi’s rich musical heritage especially as it pertains to Old Time String Band music, the forerunner of today’s bluegrass style. (Did you know the Leake County Revelers sold over 600,000 copies of one song in 1929! They were the rock gods of their day! And they were from right here in Mississippi!)
Rhonda is also a dance caller that specializes in getting beginners out on the dance floor and quickly having more fun than they expected and all while learning a little history too! With live music, a barn and a dance caller, who needs TV? So put the remote down, bring the whole family, come out and have some fun together.
